Presence Over Purrfection: A SuPURR Approach to Wellbeing

What if some of our best teachers of wellbeing have been showing us how to do it all along?

In this playful and thought-provoking keynote, media personality, PurrCon founder and creator of the SuPURR Framework KJ McGlinn explores what cats can teach us about the way we move through our own lives and workplaces.

Through stories, science and a healthy dose of feline wisdom, KJ introduces a different approach to safety, connection, presence and rest — one that doesn’t ask us to become better at pushing through, but better at recognizing what allows us to feel safe, connected and fully present in the first place.

Attendees will leave with practical ways to bring more presence into their everyday lives, a new perspective on wellbeing and probably a greater appreciation for why their cat has been staring at them from across the room.

Maybe they knew something all along.

A 60-minute featured session using the SuPURR Framework to explore safety, connection, presence and rest in life and the workplace

About KJ McGlinn

KJ McGlinn knows what it takes to create connection. She’s spent more than 20 years doing it in rooms ranging from radio studios to convention halls to Madison Square Garden.

A longtime media personality, television contributor, event creator, speaker and interviewer, KJ has built a career around bringing people together — from major-market morning radio and television to interviewing some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, sharing stages with members of the cast of The Lord of the Rings, Gilmore Girls and the Marvel Cinematic Universe and conducting interviews on stage at Madison Square Garden.

Indianapolis audiences may remember KJ as the “voice of reason” on the Smiley Morning Show or know her today as the Kitty Correspondent on Pet Pals TV. She’s also the founder of KJ Media Company and PurrCon, the cat convention she created around a deceptively simple idea: people are hungry for places where they feel like they belong.

Across more than two decades of speaking, teaching, interviewing, storytelling and building communities, KJ has learned a lot about what makes people connect and what gets in the way. Now she’s bringing a wellbeing perspective to those lessons through the SuPURR Framework and SuPURR Workplace, exploring what cats can teach us about safety, connection, presence, boundaries, play and rest.

Because sometimes the best teacher in the room has whiskers.
